Fencing Derby homeowners will love

Fencing Derby homeowners may not know but there is an expression derived from a famous poem which states “Good fences make good neighbours”.

….One on a side. It comes to little more:
There where it is we do not need the wall:
He is all pine and I am apple orchard.
My apple trees will never get across 25
And eat the cones under his pines, I tell him.
He only says, “Good fences make good neighbors.”
Spring is the mischief in me, and I wonder
If I could put a notion in his head:
“Why do they make good neighbors? Isn’t it 30
Where there are cows? But here there are no cows.
Before I built a wall I’d ask to know
What I was walling in or walling out,
And to whom I was like to give offense…

…He will not go behind his father’s saying,
And he likes having thought of it so well
He says again, “Good fences make good neighbors.”

A great investment for any property is a fence that can make both you and your neighbours happy.  So if you’re looking for options on how best to fence your home and have it befit the neighbourhood, we have a selection of ideas to help you.

If you’re looking to install a new fence then it’s best to have a plan. You should firstly look at your needs and requirements for a fence to know exactly what type of fence you will be aiming for. Different types of fences use different materials which all have their own benefits depending on their use. Therefore if you’re looking for security fencing you would be looking at something entirely different from a garden fence. Once you have identified what your fence is for you can have a better understanding of what materials are available. Secondly for your fencing derby homeowners should devise a budget that they can afford. This will also give a better indication as to what fencing options are available to you.

The three most popular types of fencing Derby properties enjoy are wood, chain link and vinyl.

Wood- This is an old favourite amongst many homeowners and comes in a variety of styles, colours and sizes. The traditional type of wood used is pine or cedar and the average sized fence is around 6ft. This is ideal for privacy and to shelter you from views of neighbours, adjacent properties or busy roads. The main benefits are that it is a solid and strong material that can be easily altered to meet exacting measurements and specifications. It is extremely versatile and can be painted or stained to each individual taste and you can change this more than once in its lifetime. There is no end to how creative you can be and if your taste changes or you simply want to spruce up your garden it won’t take long to get your fence looking just as great.

Chain Link- If your main considerations are to protect children and pets and keep them secured then this is an ideal option. They generally come in sizes of around 4ft and the thickness of fence wire can vary. If you opt for a vinyl coated finish you can choose a particular colour and increase its protection from being exposed to the weather. It is more economical then other materials often costing less and is far easier to install. It doesn’t require having to be stained or painted and is fairly low maintenance.

Vinyl- Vinyl fencing is designed and manufactured to appear like wood. However a strong advantage is that it does last longer, requiring very little maintenance and doesn’t rot. It is made of a substance called polyvinyl chloride and is available in variety of colours. There is no need to use any sealants or paint and it is rarely damaged by exposure to rain or snow.

If all of these options still don’t sound like what you’re looking for there are alternatives. Wrought iron is often a popular choice and comes in an extensive range of beautiful designs which can make any home attractive.
